We started feeding Soy Corn mix for our deer in South Texas near Freer, Texas using spin cast feeders. Cost about he same as 16% protein with the same average protein. But the deer eat most of it instead of coons eating all the protein. It took a little while to get the deer use to it but we feel certain it has worked to keep our deer healthy and grow some kickers on young deer even after the drought. Curious if anyone else has any positive experience with it. Names are "HORN CORN" "MR BUCK". And it cost about $13 / bag in Austin, Texas. Any cheaper places to buy it?

I filled my feeders last time with roasted soy bean corn mix, I bought it for $10 per 50lbs in Jacksboro.
The birds love it the deer don't seem to know its for them they eat the corn and leave.
At $3.50 more per bag than corn if they don't get with the program and start eating it I'm going back to straight corn.
They might not be as smart as south Tx deer though.

I've used Stampede, which is sold at Micobe Feed in Hamilton for about $10.35/50lbs.

I've used it and can tell it helps the herd. They just take a little bit to get used to it. Mr. Bucks is the cleanest mix you can find imo.

A place in Deleon makes some. Place called Golden Oak i believe. I know you get good pricing directly from them on ton pricing but you gotta get it so it might not be worth the drive. I have seen them refer to theirs as deer ration or horns plus.

I use it and it didnt take them long to clean it out, nor did it take long for them to find it. The roasted soy bean/corn mix has a peanut butter type smell to it. I think I paid around 10.00 a bag back in Sept. This is the first year using it, so hard to say if it helped, but I will start using again after the season is over. I use a gravity feeder, never thought about slinging it.
