I HAVE BEEN LOOKING TO FIND WHERE THERE ARE HEAVILY POPULATED PIGS I GUESS THEY ARE ABUNDANT EVERYWHERE BUT JUST THOUGHT WHAT FEEDBACK YOU GUYS COULD GIVE.

And I dont think East Texas has near the pigs there are up in the canyons around amarillo, claude, clarendon, and other towns around the caprock.

Maybe because they don't have the woodlands to hide out in as in East Texas, but in all of my traveling around the state, I have seen more dead hogs along the highway from Roscoe to Texline in the Panhandle than anywhere else in the State.

Theres just to many all over. Every area in the state has a pocket or several pockets loaded with them. I hunted a place 20yrs ago in llano that if you didnt get too your bow shot deer in a hr they did and you wouldnt have to gut it. You can find good hog hunting in alot of areas.

Actually Georgia, I hear, has MASSIVE pig problems. But Texas is pretty covered in them, with the exception of west texas I suppose. Not too many ferrel hogs out there, but a few javilenas.

I remember reading on the TPWD site about hogs and it stated that 250 of the 254 Texas counties have hogs. I don't remember any comments about volume per county.

We are going to get 3 or 4 teams of 3 or 4 guys and have a ball. Leave out at say noon on friday and have weigh in on sunday at noon. If you wanna sleep then sleep or if you wanna stay up for 48 hours and hunt then you can do so. each team will pay $100 to enter. No rules other than blaze orange and head lights at night. ought to be a lot of fun.

We don't have them in western Mills county. At least not on our places. They have been in other parts of the county for years. Mostly in heavy cedar populated area's. It's not from lack of water because we have lots of small to large ponds, creeks, and the Colorado river.
