Man this is a tough crowd. Will all of you agree a good lease is hard to find - sometimes you just have to take one on the chin. I'm going to at least try to kill them with kindness first. Buy them a couple of steaks and go introduce yourself to them, let them get to know you. They may be looking at you as some type of threat to their future property. I'm sure they will still want the money when they are in control. A couple of nice ribeye's might solve your problem's.

I've dealt with a few pricks in my time and I think the best way to handle them is to speak to them face to face. They usually cower under that type of pressure. If this superprick was half a man he would have spoken to the hunters on the lease about any problems or disagreements between them.

If worse comes to worse, I'd get the proof of him harassing the guys and take it to court if the land owner doesn't do anything and try to get my money back.

Or I'd whip his azz. Probably call his mother some unpleasant names too, and kick his dog.

There is no taking one on the chin in a situation like this. I have had situations like this, not to the extreme of being shot at, and it really takes the fun out of it. You are sitting there trying to relax and enjoy yourself but in the back off your mind you are worrying about if someone is going to mess with you. These deer are hard enough to hunt.... you dont need somebody making it harder. On top of that this thing we all like to do so much isnt cheap. You have lease fees, feeders to keep going, fuel, etc. Its also alot of hard work and when stuff like this goes on it makes you want to just walk away from it all.

And maybe his wife will need a shoulder to cry on when she kicks him out, and you can get even with him then...

Last time I was at our place I had several hunters in different blinds and at 4:30 the shots began. After about 50 rounds I called the neighbor from the blind and asked if they had anyone shooting on their place. They said yes their daughter was shooting skeet is there a problem. I said no I was just trying to figure out where the shots were coming from. We had hunters in the blinds and I wasn't sure if it was coming from our place. They told me they were sorry and it wouldn't happen again. Within 5 min. it stopped. I knew where the shots were coming from and I was very mad about it the timing was awful. But I showed them respect and they agreed on their own to show me respect.

He has put 6 years in to this lease the problem just started I could right off one year before hitting the front gate.

Every Lease has it's issues. But one thing for sure is they are hard to find.

They aren't hard enough to find to put up with that kind of stuff I gurantee.

I would do the face to face talk and be nice about it . If that didn't work things are not going to change so it would have to be swift and blinding violence .lol - It would be time to move on .

I think your on the right track going to the old folks first. If you have a writen agreement or contract and the old folks are in agreement id send a certifed letter to superprick telling him if he doesnt stop the chit you will sue him for cost of lease fuel and time spent wasted because of his shanagans. I agree talking with the landowners is step one. If you get an odd feeling or they say anything in his defense you're toast.
A last ditch effort is to tell them hunter harassment is taking place and super jerks actions are dangerous. If a hunter ends up hurt or worse due to the crap he's pulling the landowner will be liable.

Take a video camera with you and film super jerks activities. Add game cams in an attempt to catch him messing with your stuff.
Show the game warden your evidence, if he won't do his job show the sheriff. If neither will do their job take it to the county prosecutor, call Austin sheriffs and game wardens have bosses too.

I hate to say it but it sounds like the end of a good thing.

Good Luck! Take your kids with you the elderly like their kids. Plus it will help you to stay calm and teach your kids how to deal with problems. Most people do not like change They don't want to have find a new group to lease to. Just make them aware of the problems you are having this year and see if they can help any. I would play stupid and tell them I'm not for sure who is doing it but this is what has been going on. Wanted to check with you to make sure it wasn't their's daughter's family and is it Ok to call the Warden next time you see someone driving around their property at night spot lighting or gun shots that don't belong to the hunter's. Take them a little something for Christmas some deer venison maybe and just make the problems you have a little something you can talk about.

Yeah that'd look real good acting spineless and timid to try to keep a hunting spot in front of your kids.

I'd be all about the panties idea. It would work! He'd have other things to worry about then. Maybe even top it off by watching him one weekend, time when he leaves the property and comes back. If his timing allows, have someone call the house a day or two later pretending to be from a local motel. Have them ask the wife if she had taken the key to the room by mistake, or if he did. That would seal the deal.

I'd have a sit down with the elderly folks who will be losing income due to superpricks behavior, along with superprick, and the lease manager......but only after I had videotape proof. Or show superprick the laws he is breaking and show him the game wardens number on your speed dial.
