Jimmy Guest (owner of the Guest Ranch) is offering a $4,000 reward to any Information that leads to the arrest of a idividual/s responsible for poaching 2 bull elk and 3 fallow bucks just for the sole purpose of the antlers. Heads where cut off and the carcuss left to rot. These animals were poached at the corner of Hwy 16 and Church House Rd. I saw this posted on the counter top in the store in Strawn last weekend. I do not have his number but im sure it will not be hard to find. It also said that the Palo Pinto Sheriff can be contacted aswell. Im sure any help he can get will be greatly appreciated.

I used to hunt with a taxidermist. Every time a deer was poached from Hagerman (happens more than you think), the GWs make the rounds of all the local taxidemists and leave a picture of the deer when it was live. Most poachers don't know that the GWs keep picture albums of the big bucks as they grow through the summer.

I used to hunt with the BIL of a guy that supposedly went to Federal Prison for poaching a deer in Hagerman. He was fined $25,000 and when he didn't pay, they picked him up. I say "supposedly" went to prison because that's where they said he was headed but I never heard the final outcome of the case. Just to be clear, the guy I hunted with was a stand-up hunter and did not defend his BIL in any way.

I know a Hagerman poacher that's in prison right now. But I think meth had more to do with it than poaching, although he's been busted for both.

Mmmm Hmmm

Cooke and Grayson counties are the 'Silicon Valley' of meth production.
