Why? I don't get nocturnalism except for the moon or hunting pressure. Where I hunt in PP Co. there is no pressure & even when there is no moon they seem to be only out @ night.

No "big buck" movement on 919 between gordon and 180. Lots of small bucks still chasing but the big boys havent shown themselves. Even cameras arent showing any more big bucks. Not alot of pressure around us either. I have no idea. Your guess is as good as mine. maybe this freeze will finally rot the acorns and they will start hitting the feeders again.

Ya right now we are seeing more small bucks than does. That has never happened before, we usually have tons of does but they seem to be down this year. So right now we are seeing a lot of small bucks and some does but the big boys just arent moving, we hunt on about 1000 acres and we have seen 2 shooters. Normally by now we have a deer or 2 in the freezer. This is just a weird season...

We've hunted our land for 35 years. In the past 2 years we've shot a hog year. We just dont seem to have them, theres no sign, and they are tearing anything up, so if we do have them they're strictly nocturnal and very polite. I hope the big ones start moving before Jan. 3rd flehan

Good to hear it's slow everywhere! I hunt south palo pinto and we had deer every where till about Thanksgiving. Now we are not even seeing does, my dad lives where I hunt and if he is not seeing them it is really slow. Only thing seeing lately is turkey. confused2

Any of you guys hunt near the Brazos River? Our lease is about a quarter mile off of it, I'm just wondering if most of the deer really hang out close to the river or if they're just generally scattered. We see deer all over our lease but it seems like the guys who hunt closer to the river see more. I wonder if they would travel that quarter mile just to come to the feeders, there's hardly any hunting pressure around us.

My bud hunts near 20 and the river and he and his wife shot two big deer this year, but overall deer movement has been slower.

We dont have pigs on our place. Which is weird, in the 37 years that our guys have been hunting there we've shot 2, thats it. I wonder why we arent seeing very many. And the deer must be strictly nocturnal right now. We have oats planted and I'm guessing they're hitting those pretty heavy at night.

We are in the SE corner of the county. I got a spike opening day. Watched a 4 pt, too narrow for AR, last Saturday. We have some random pictures, including doe. We have all kinds of turkeys. I watched 33 leave a tree roost then forage across the field in front of me. We took one tom, Thanksgiving week.

Shot a cull opening weekend, shot a nice turkey 2 weeks ago (10.25" beard), but only seeing deer at night. I'll know more - headed there tomorrow.
