Looking for info on southwest Coryell county (Topsey). Deer numbers, size, terrain, ranch sizes. Anything is appreciated.

Good numbers of deer. Depending on the individual property expect to see anywhere from a couple of deer up to 8 or 10 per hunt. Maybe more if you have a good food plot.
Mature bucks around 150 - 175 lbs live weight. Does around 100.
Terrain is rolling hills with decent brush. Most of the creek or river bottoms have farm land. Oats are the preferred food plot crop.
Mixture of property sizes. 500 acres is above average.
Coryell County is in the 3rd year of AR - spike or 13 inch minimum. Beginning to see positive results as far as more 2.5+ year old bucks and somewhat bigger average antler size.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

I havent seen many this year, neighbors havent either. We all have feeders year round and oat fields. Deer have been hard to come by this year. And only 1 big busk spotted, he was a 10 point. gonna try again this weekend
I did see my 14 point, but I let him walk. Hes my breeding buck

Know several persons who hunt Topsey area. They are all pleased. In general good deer hunting. You will usuall see deer but this year has been a strange on in most areas of Central Texas. Texan til I die has the perfect description the land.

I haven't seen deer all season. The only ones that I have seen were on camera and they were 2 does. I have 10 stands and feeders that feed all year on 1400 acres. Been on this lease for 5 years and this is the worst year yet. We usually harvest only 1 buck and several does per year due to low numbers. Good luck.

we've seen some nice deer and killed a decent 10 pointer and a fat doe. Lots of little bucks. I'd say on average, the buck / doe ratio on my hunts has been fairly equal. We're just over 500 acres with corn, protein, and oats. The nights have seemed to be really bright when I've been out there to hunt, so they are doing a good bit of their moving around after dark. Most of the deer we've seen have been at first and last light.
I'll be back out there this weekend and it looks like it might be a little chilly, not much moon, and cloudy friday night / Saturday morning. Might be the best hunting of the season so far.
