Its seems that they have sold the company to H and R rifles. Anyone have one ? What can you say about accuracy?

I have 2 of them. one of them is a 20ga. I seem to kill more dove with it than my 870. and use alot less ammo. I may need to take it more often lol. The second one is a .223 I really like it. I dont exatly know how accurate it is. I dont shoot much paper with it. it always seems to find fur. It doesnt like the bulk steel case ammo at all. I have considered buying another in a 30-06, but there are so many nice guns out there today, I am going to hold out for a bolt action. If you are looking for a cheap dependable gun, this is it. I am going to get one in a .243 for my son in the near future.

I bought one in .308 in a combo with the 4-12 scope. It is not picky about bullet grain but seems to shoot 150s a little better. Very accurate for the price.

Bought an NEF SB2 in .223 several years ago and put a Tasco 3X9X40 on it. It's a tack driver.....100yds Offhand - 1.5" Sandbag - Cut holes. Likes 55gr spitzer...Haven't had to track a hog yet. Aim at the ear and they're dead right there! Works on Turkeys too! Carry to the blind with my trusty ole .308.

me and a hunting buddy each bought an SB2 in .22-250, SS bull barrel, his is a tack driver. I tried 3 scopes on mine, 2 Leupolds and a Nikon. I never could get any better than 3" groups out of it PLUS sometimes when I shot, it would break over by itself. scared me, got rid of it. guess I got a bad one cause I hear lots of good things about them. anyone else had one break over open on them when they firedd??

I have had about 10 H&R/NEF rifles. I only had one that would not group under 1.5" at 100yds and several of them where under the 1" mark. Only one shot bad a 25-06, and one shot excelent Also a 25-06. It would put out half inch groups at 200 consistantly. No explanation on the difference on the two identical rifles.

I had one in .223 and I liked it. I only got rid of it because someone made me a heck of a deal on it. It was a pretty decent rifle. Accurate and seemed solid enough to bounce around in the truck.

It was fairly accurate but that break over when fired was too much...i traded it off

we bought those for truck guns, my buddy has some really nice rifles but he will reach for that cheap NEF most of the time. he has no problems with his, I am gonna get me another .22-250, but it is such a neat caliber I am gonna spend some money on that gun. maybe even try another NEF in another caliber.

I've got several! A .357 maximum (Reamed chamber) a .243 Ultra, a 45-70, .270, and a 20 gauge Tracker ll rifled slug barrel, and all shoot very well from 1/2" to 1" at 100 yards. These rifles don't like oil on the latch, and that can cause accuracy problems and what some described above as breaking open after the shot, which is harmless as the bullet is long gone before that happens, but it's annoying when it does. Clean the latch catch, and the latch shelf, with alcohol and it will cure that problem, as these Handi Rifles don't like a lot of oil. For what they cost, they are dependable and accurate rifles, that just work well for their intended purpose, and price. If you own a Handi Rifle or you are thinking about owning one, check out this website and scroll down to the NEF/H&R Talk section, about midway down. There is a ton of information in the frequently asked questions that have been put together over the years by knowledgeable handi owners, and the memebers are great about helping you out with questions you may have. my .223 with handloads will stack in under an inch pretty much all day long. only problem with them if you handload is that they can't handle warm loads. cases will stick.
