The season got off to a slow start for me this year but I finally dropped the hammer on a buck I had been passing up. I was able to take him with my Freedom Arms .454 Casull at a distance of ten whole yards. He was just too close and I couldn't pass up the shot. He is leading the handgun division of Los Casadores so far with a gross score of 165 6/8. He is a mainframe ten with three kickers. Here is a picture.

nice buck. have ya'll been seeing any better bucks down south? last weekend was a bust so to speak with the hot weather. yesterday morning i saw one 4 1/2 year old 9 point that would go in the 130's and another really wide, maybe 23-24 in spread 8 that would also be around 130ish. that deer was about 5 or six. bright moon last nite put a damper on this mornings hunt but i still saw 4 2 year old eightpoints slipping thru the brush. nobody has caught a glimpse of any of the bigger deer yet, but were not hunting extreemly hard either.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

good looking deer!

As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind...Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks--Thomas Jefferson

Coincidence, I think not.
