I have heard extreama guys tell your story, but not someone that actually shoots an SBE.

GUY; my father and his buddy jaybird brought one this year SBE2 and they are both having problems with them after about 4000 rounds +/-. my father went back to using his ithaca 10 until he gets around to sending it back and jaybird is still waiting on his to be return, from my understanding benelli is back up. he went back to using he's 11-87. but understand Guy they don't just use them for hunting they used them for everything on the farm from Squirrels to hogs. They are place every where from in side of the truck to being bounce around in the tractors when plowing fields or being bounce in the rtv's on a daily bases, they take one hell of a beating. maybe for normal people that do not used them like they do, may not have any problems with them it all depends on how you treat you weapon. smile

I remember my dad having problems with his m1 super 90 during cold weather quail hunting. I seen him just take a can of rem oil and spray the crap out of the bolt. We continued on back with the hunt.

Later he took the butt plate off to clean the interior of the stock/spring and it there was all sorts of gunk in there including quail feathers. So despite the benelli being very sturdy it still needs proper upkeep if you want to have it work correctly.

Benelli has such a cult following you can't hardly say anything negative about them.

It's like listening to guys from Alabama talk about how there is no competitive football outside of the SEC.

I had a SBE 2 and it was junk since it was new. Now I have a Extrema 2 and it started randomly only dinging primers after two years of hard use. Im fixing to take it to the gunsmith today. I just think it depends on if you get lucky and get a gun that happens to be made right. I have been unlucky the last two I bought. I just really dont know where I should go from here. I am interested in the new xplor unico 400, but still have a bad taste in my mouth from this last beretta purchase. I always have my sp-10 with me while waterfowl hunting, so when I gun starts acting up I know I can count on it no matter what. Its been going strong since 93. I have a safe full of guns that are really old, that have no problems. Kind of seems like they just dont make them like they used to.

On the X2 there's an O ring at the inside at the top of the forend. It sounds like it's bad or it may have fallen out if you've taken the gun apart previously. I took my gun apart one time and it fell out. I wasn't quite sure where it was supposed to go. So I just slid it over the magazine tube, and my gun started not firing. Just tapping the primer like you said. Then I looked in the manual and figured it out.

Waterfowl version? If you are talking about camo version you might want to take another look, this gun looks pretty good just the way it is

I have read same thing, that Beretta will continue to make the Xtrema 2 and may even introduce an Xtrema 3 next year.

I guess we should start referring to the Benelli Vinci as the SBE III.
