That was the only picture I had of the deer this year. This one was caught in a cattle panel and I took a picture of him before he took off. The deer are not tame.

Gunnar Koon got his first Whitetail yesterday. This high horned 8 point is a good start.

Congratulations Gunnar!! Nice buck, welcome to the club.
What caliber rifle are you shooting? How far was the shot on your deer?

Gunnar was in a stand with his dad. The shot was about 100 yds. and he made a perfect shot that took out the bucks heart. He is a very fine young man and it was a pleasure to have him and his father out hunting with us. Donald

Yep, I loved my hunts there last year. You will see alot of deer from the blinds. I had them infront of me before daylight and all morning. Don is A+ they don't come any better. He'll get you on an animal. Earl

No bowhunting at all on your place or just on the axis does right now?

Gunnar shot his deer with a Alpha 284 at 100 yards from one of Don's stands. It was his first deer, first buck. Gunnar has been on cloud nine ever since.

We had a great time with Don and I would strongly recommend him and his ranch to anyone. There were lots of deer and lots of bucks. Must have seen well over 50 different bucks. We could have easily taken more.

Don doesn't have any restrictions on which whitetails you can shoot and which ones you can't. And they all cost the same. So you pick which deer you want.

I passed on a very nice mature 9 point the last night we were there. It was tough being within 40 yards of him, but at that point I really wanted an axis doe. Besides, watching my son take his first also put me on cloud nine.

This is a great option for those who didn't get on a lease or simply can't afford $3k to take your kid hunting. Like I said, Don has my recommendation. Just don't stay at the hotel that I chose; there are others. deer2

Do you still have any whitetail bucks or axis hunts available?

No axis, I have whitetail but I have some folks waiting and as soon as I find out when I am going to be home from my real job I will let everyone know. I think I should be back starting on the 21st. of this month.Have only taken the one buck this year so there are still deer left. Thanks, Donald

No apology needed. Just makes an easy decision. I've seen some bow hunters I wouldn't allow too.
