I picked up the Stevens from Academy. Thought others might have jumped on the super sales?

Don't have an Academy in my town. Bought a Dremel tool at Lowes for $30 and got a firepit for the back porch for $40. Very tempted to hit the combo packs of Skil and Porter Cable tools, but had to resist...

I saw that Stevens ad from academy, what caliber did you get it in?

I was at Academy but didn't want a .270 or 7mm.08 called a couple of friends and told them about it.. but not sure if they looked. These are new deer/ hog hunting aged 30-35 teachers. I had previously told them I liked the .308 as a good cartridge.. so maybe they will hold out with my advise..yeah right..lol

I went .270. I have a bull .308 but wanted something lighter for the longer hauls. Already did a trigger job on it and cleaned up and floated the barrel channel. Hopefully it will be a decent shooter.

Yep. Bought a 7mm08 at academy and Bushnell scope.I just have to get the trigger adjusted.

out of the box, my stevens will shoot 3/4" groups at 100 yds. i put aftermarket trigger and a nikon buckmaster 3x9x50. its a .243 and i shoot hornady 95gr.SST's

I just snagged the VX-1 4-12 off the classifieds so the budget build rifle is almost complete. If I can build a reliable MOA rifle for the $400 I've got in it I will be very content.

I'll look into the SST for .270.

How long is this deal going on? Did not see it in the weekly add.

I should have stayed at the lease. I ended up picking up a T/C Icon Weathershield at Cabela's.

It was a friday only deal.
