I just got a Tikka T3 light in 270 WSM for a b-day/early christmas present. Its a very light gun(6.5 lbs) and a relatively large caliber, the so called recoil pad barely has any cushion so I think I want a new recoil pad for it. Any suggestions for a recoil pad? Also, Does anybody own a tikka? If so how does it shoot?

Try a limbsaver recoil pad. Can't help you with the other two questions.

I heard nothing but good comments regarding Tikka rifles.I believe Tikka is actually made by made Sako. Limb Saver and Pachmeyer recoil pads are both very good. Hold the rifle snug into your shoulder but not too snug so that you tense up. The recoil from the bench will always be more intense than in the field.

i'm gonna have to vote for the limbsaver as well...i have one on a .22-250 and the recoil feels like that of a pellet rifle..not that its a whole lot to begin with
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

OR, you can man up and deal with itinstead of crying about it! haha, just kidding. I had a light Ruger in 300 win mag that I had to get rid of cause it was too much.
Red Cloud, Tikka barrels are made by Sako. The rest of the rifle is all Tikka. I believe Tikka is a division of Sako, which in turn is owned and operated by Beretta.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!
