Mac's has great brisket. The Double H in Santa Anna has really good breakfast and lunch.

I lived there for about a year and Hard 8 just didn't do it for me. Mac's hands down.

El Flamingo for decent, consistant, breakfast as well as other meals and it is VERY reasonably priced. Very good fish on Fridays. Nice folks.

You are very limited in Brady for a place to get good grub. I usually went to McDonald's for breakfast and to shoot the chit with the old farmers and ranchers. That seems to be the "gathering" place.

I'll have to agree with scattergun. I've had much better BBQ!

I as well as all the guests I take to my place near Brady think Hard 8 is way over rated. We go every year and when we're done we ask "why do we keep going there". Every local we talk to seems to agree and rates Mac's much better. Flores Cafe was good. I tried it opening week. The cute little waitress though kept my credit card, I didn't catch it until the next morning, and went on a $300 convience store run after work that night.

A couple of weekends ago, I ate lunch at the hamburger joint off the main highway, I forget the name, but the sign out front says "Best burger in Texas". It's on the north side of town, just south of the main town square on 87/377 in a red shack on the east side of the highway. They serve a jalapeno-cheese burger that is outstanding!!

Just thought I would add this for the folks that head through Brady.
