I am looking to buy a new shotgun here very soon. I either want a Browning Silver Hunter or a Winchester SX3. Please voice your opinions on both of them. And which one would be better.
I will be hunting dove, quail, and maybe some ducks.

New Browning Maxus has the best of the Silver hunter and Win SX3 in a lighter weight shot gun.

They are both about the same. Does the SX3 have the magazine cut off? I don't think the silver does? Just my preference would be a Browning. It has been some time since Winchester had the go to shotgun. As mentioned above I would give the Maxus a look.

I've had my Browning Silver for a couple years now. I usually get to shoot about 2-3 times per month at the skeet range and I've had it out in the field hunting a couple times this year, so I'd guess my Browning has around 1100-1500 rounds through it.

It jammed ONE time when I bought cheap Wal-Mart "value pack" shells...and so did my friend's Benelli SBE on the same ammo. We vowed NEVER to buy that junk again.

I'd buy another Browning Silver Hunter in a heartbeat. It's an excellent choice.

Browning.

I have always thought that the SX3 is noticably heavier than other semis.

Most importantly, make sure it fits well. That when you draw that particular gun it feels right and you can pick up the sights quickly.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

Ya when i held the SX3 it was a lot heavier than the silver.
Not so much as to be a problem but i would prefer lighter.

Try the gold hunter. I have one and it's perfect. It does have the mag cutoff while the silver doesn't.
