I have a custom colt defender that was highly modified at some time in the past(befoer I got it). The slide keeps sticking when I release it with the slide release. I have polished several areas that had some wear marks on it, and still no luck.

Also what are the laws concerning mailing it to a gunsmith for the work and mailing it back? Anyhelp would be appreciateed.

Does it stick with ammo as in a jam or empty and just getting stuck?

If you take all the guns off the street you still will have a crime problem, whereas if you take the criminals off the street you cannot have a gun problem.

empty and just getting stuck. If i insert a loaded clip and pull the slide back and release, the slide stops about one half inch short of fully closed. You can then raise and lower the gun and the shell will slip in and out. Also you can drop the magazine out and it still stays jamed.
