Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. Love the lake naming threads...all you guys who argue against naming are right! I hunt private most of the time so it doesn't matter to me but even still I always am looking for new spots and the named lakes always get a once over. Anyway on to the subject at hand...I had a buddy invite me out to Pintail Farms for a hunt next month. I think the price is high for a day hunt but you do get some lodging and meals included. Do any of you guys have experience out there? Thanks and I hope to be around a bit more, not sure what I can contribute, even my witty banter is a bit lacking.

Where's Pintail Farms located, in regards to Frisco? I hunt mostly public, never had the $$ to hunt private lands.

It's up north of us a bit. I've heard great things about them but never gone myself. They are on the forum, just haven't seen too many posts lately. Probably busy shooting ducks.
the thing about baiting is, even a rookie hunter could have a 170 bird season if they bait holes

I went up their ones to check it out. Its a realy nice place and should have ducks. Its an easy hunt. You can see most of the hunting area from the lodge. I keep looking into joining but just can't part with $7500 for the year.

Never hunted on the place, but have hunted areas around it. There are ducks!
Should be a good hunt.

Hunted there 3 years ago as a guest a couple times and had great hunts...The lodge is first rate and Rocky and Mike are some great guys..Just dont let them hustle you at pool...They do have a few more places leased other than just where the lodge is...it all what you are will in to part with...They will be honest with you as well if there are not many birds down...Look at their website..They keep a post of daily hunts and how many birds are taken...

Thank you for the positive comments... We have worked really hard to make the place very unique. I can say one of the things that brings us to waterfowl hunting is the ever changing diversity! One year drought and the next year alot of rain. This year we had the best early teal seasons ever. The 2 weeks of season have been really good. However, in the last week or so have not seen many birds at all. However, we monitor the refuges in South Dakota and Missouri. One of the refuges in Missouri had 8 thousand birds first of week and now is holding 70 thousand plus. Normally this time of year they are holding 250,000 or so. Which means there is alot of birds that have not made it down into North Texas yet. We have killed alot of Teal, Wigdeons, Gadwalds, and alot of Pintails so far this year. We have shot only a few Mallards. Mallards are what we are known for! The birds are coming just a matter of when they get here... We have always tried our best that for everyone hunting with us at Pintail that they have the best hunting experience we can provide. Pintail is a very unique place... Its all about the ducks... This region of Texas is very very amazing... Times when you see thousands and thousands of ducks. We have a video on our website site called the Duck Man video. This was filmed 3 years ago friday before opener of the split. We were estimating that we were holding 50,000 birds. The most amazing thing I have seen.. So, with that being said for all of you that have not had a great season thus far be patient it is only going to get better. www.pintailfarms.com

Awesome, thanks for the feedback and your input pintail man.
Now I just need to decide if I can afford that kind of cash for a day hunt. Not my style but who knows...
