I hunt an area on the coast that clearly states NO PERMANENT BLINDS in this particular area. The area authority tore down every permanent blind in the area a few years back. Today while out there, I noticed a new one that was built out there out of galv pipe and wood. Its pretty much on top of one of my 'honey holes' (which isnt a secret spot by any means). I called the office and notified them but my buddy suggested just taking it down since it will prob be used this wkend at that'd put them right on top of us. In which case they'd prob argue that 'we have a blind here' and all that mess. I wouldnt tear it down but just wondering how many of you would

I would not hunt it. If the GW comes along and your in it then your it. Would it be wrong for me to tell you a road flare burns in different increments of time. Some 30 minutes and other 20 minutes. I don't know why I know this but it is true.

Tear it down and hunt the area this weekend. That way you don't have anything to worry about if the GW shows up.

Call the game warden, invite him to hunt in the blind with you. Get there first. Have nice long chat with game warden, learn some things, make a friend, shoot some ducks, and when you are ready to leave, tear the sumbitch down, because it's the only right thing to do.
If a game warden has the power to make you stop hunting because you're IN a permanent blind (I doubt it, he'd have to know you built it) then your other option is to do above but show up about 1 hr before legal, just enough to kick the other party out, and then resume the story from there.

In Christmas? Just leave it be and if ya wanna hunt it go for it, be better to set up on the point before the blinds location and get the birds before they do. You wont get in trouble for a hunting a blind out there, if thats where it is. I have hunted out of one out there in the past and never had problems with gw but we always do better setting up on a point before the blind.

I dont fully understand some of the comments in this post, if the blind is built poorly or in a bad location....where it could effect the area you hunt then tear it down...otherwise why tear it down ? Get there early and hunt it...beats the hell outta hunting on you knees, or out of a boat blind that sticks out on the flat marsh. It will also help preserve the condition of the vegetation around the pond or flat that its on....idiots will sit down and make holes all around the edges of ponds...ive been checked by the gw on plenty of occasions in public marsh in a permanent blind and was never even questioned about it
...love you No-Tox

In an area that is legal to hunt but where rules clearly state NO PERMANENT BLINDS. I hunt just out of shooting range of where it is at on a pretty regular basis and I get out of the boat and sit in the grass.

we had this problem up on ray roberts, we tore it down cuz it is against the law to have permanent blinds out there.. or we moved there blinds out of our way, and built one up outta brush.. like stated above first come first serve, get the area yo uwanna hunt and tell the other guys to take a hike!
