I went hunting last week. My friend shot an 8 point buck. There is some think brush and trees behind our feeder. We were done hunting and decided to look around in the brush some. There were tons of deer trails and you could see where some bedded down. This is the cool part. We found a pair of shedded antlers. We picked them up and didn't think much of it. When we got back to camp we started comparing them the the deer he shot. I am pretty sure they came from the same deer. The both had the right anlter slanted in more than the left. The shedded antlers were slightly smaller that the buck he shot. I think he is going to do a euro mount and mount the shedded antler right above the skull. I will post a pic when he gets it done in a few weeks.

That is a great story. I have only been deer hunting for 4 years and I have yet to find a shed.
I also live in Grapevine.

I go shed hunting in the spring, usually before it warms up. It's a great way to learn more about the deer on your place.

We do need to have a GTG for the Grapevine, Colleyville, mid cities and anyone else that wants to show up. It took us a couple hours and more than a few beers to figure it out. We were originally going to tape the shedded antlers to a hat. As buck crazy as the neighbors are we decided again this quickly. grin I can't wait to see the mount.
