During bow season deer are hitting feeders real reguarly, now and since about a week prior to gun season poof. Where did they go, and why have they left. Oh yea hogs are back during the night and thats all that I am seem to be feeding now. This lease is in Montague county.
NRA member and proud of it.

deer do get the memos about when season starts... they just don't have things figured out on MLD properties yet. Could be a number of things...acorns, rutting activity?... pressure.

Put hog panels around your feeder . Chances are good that the
hogs are scaring your deer away . Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in the same county as you and saw nothing at the feeders but dove this week. I saw deer but they were cruising around in the mesquites a few hundred yards off. I took a spike but it took shooting sticks and some walking to find one. Need a freeze it seems before the feeders will work.

That and ACORNS. I've seen more deer lately after 10:00 A.M. than before. I busted a Doe Tuesday morning at 10:15 as I was walking from the Ranch Headquarters to the Feeder. She was 450 yards from the feeder heading to water.

I always heard it was because bucks during the days right before the rut have got their Doe locked down in the brush waiting for them to come in.
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!
