Well opening morning around 8:00am I decided to take this nice 10 pointer that has been showing up on my cameras. He is not my biggest buck, but a nice shooter for this lease. I am on right at 320 acres low fense with other deer leases on both sides of me. So when this buck gave me the opportunity I gladly took it with a smile. This is the biggest buck that has showed up on camera all year long. We have a bunch of tall eights, and other 9's, and 10's but they are all inside the ears. They should be great next year. Anyways here is the pic of him.

Also Monday 11/09/09 right at 7:30am I decided to go ahead and fill my spike tag as well. He was sitting right at 8ins on both sides. He also was either shot by a bow or shot during youth weekend. He had a hole in his lower stomach about the size of a quarter that was pretty infected.

I seen several other deer during my 4 days of hunting out there. But these are the 2 so far that are filling my freezer. I hope yall enjoy the pics.

Yeah he is a real nice deer for our area. He was 17 1/2" wide. The funny thing is that the night before I was showing my wife pictures blown up on our Big screen. I told her that was the deer that I would be hunting. She was excited to hear the next morning that I got the deer that I wanted to get lol. I rather be lucky than good. I made a few people on our lease alittle jealous. I just smiled.

We are just outside of Holly Lake off of 2869 and Hwy 154. The only problem that I have with my lease is the thieves. I was hit hard at the end of last year and moved locations on the lease. Been looking for another lease somewhere in the same area. I always have decent luck at this lease though. I would probably still keep it.

Has the river dropped? Last checked, the area we hunt there in the bottom is flooded...

Really good deer. Is there a deer processing facility near Quitman or Winnsboro? I just started hunting Wood county just a few miles north of HWY154 on FM2869. I havent seen anything quite this nice.

Wow.......nice looking deer for Wood Cty!!! For being such a small county its surprising to see how many people on the board hunt this county.

Regarding thefts........!@#$ meth heads have hit me twice out there. I have several surprises for them next time.
