Some use Trucks, some use ATVs, some walk. I found a new way. I paddle. The launch is about 30 yards from our gate. I paddle right up to the back of my tower blind and never have to cross my food plot or walk near my feeders. And the view from inside the blind. There are two feeders visible. I'm in Deer hunting mode now, but I will be back to hunt these guys. And then another blind. Old School Blind. Can't tell in the picture, but it is on the highest point of the lease. It is on a knob on top of a small mountain. Unfortunately with the warm weather and the moon, there was just not much moving during the day. At least not other than 6 point deer or smaller. One 10 point seen, but it was not legal under the new AR rules, or at least was too close to call. Oh and that tower blind. AT dark Saturday, Raccoons came out of the wood work. An army of them converged on the area around the stand. To play around I made some light distress sounds on a squirrel call that was in the blind. One of them suckers started climbing one of the legs of the blind. I thought it was funny until I realized it was going to end up crawling in the window, so I had to open the door to show I was human run it off. I should have had a pistol to defend myself! With the warm weather I came home earlier than I had planned. I need to get packed to head North anyway. Geese in OK and Pheasant in KS are calling to me. I am hoping some colder weather more conductive to Deer hunting will be here when I get back. John

Ha, I hear ya. I have been Canoeing since I was a kid and kayaking in more recent years. I think during all my life (knock on wood) there are only two times I can remember falling out of a canoe that was unexpected. Once at around 10/12 years old with my Dad on the Rio Grande on a float trip around Big Bend. And then 50 hours into the Texas Water Safari Race. So my track record has been pretty good. The good thing at the lease is that if I did fall out, I can just stand up. It is shallow and stays constant as for the high level due to a natural rock dam downstream.

Water is the way to get there. Good luck on your travels and come home safe.

That might be the prettiest setting for a blind that I've seen, very nice SniperJohn.

Thanks for the pictures. You have a sweetheart of a setup.
Be kind with your words, thankful to your Creator and generous with the meat from your hunt.

smartest thing I've heard of. No scent tracks for a deer to follow.

Young County. Where I am on a creek is about two miles "as the crow flies" from the Brazos.

I'm in South East Palo Pinto and on Palo Pinto Creek and the area just looked real familiar.
