Is that what is written on the top in front of the bolt? It should have a name brand one it, Iver Johnson, Universal, or a host of others. It doesn't look like a military version, unless the wood was changed. If it is a civilian version which I think it is it isn't worth that much. I picked up one real similar to that one for about 300 bucks. If it is a military version they are at least double that amount. But like I said I don't think it is military issue.

That looks very similar to the 2 I use to have. Mine where made by Universal. I think I sold them for around $250. Whats wrong with just following the rules ??

IJ/Universal's are about 250-300; If it was a military one it could range from 400 to 40,000.......

I moved this post from the classifieds. Y'all help Dovehunter101 figure out what he has and value please. Then if he chooses to sell or trade it, he can post it back up in the classified again with an idea of price..

Look on top at the back of the receiver. Might or might be a serial number, but there may be a manufacture name there just visible under the back of rear sight. Let us know what it says.
us carbine cal 30 M1
Does relate to a way Universal started marking their carbines in the mid 60s. As does the color of your stock as pictured.

The M would indicate a military part, but that does not identify your carbine. A number of commercial companies used surplus parts in their production, and military parts often got mixed up during rebuilds. On the top rear of your carbine should be the manufacturer. Again, it might be partially obscured by the rear sight. But that will tell you what you have. There can be major value differences between commercial and military contractor. And then major value differences between different contractors. Some made more than others. Collectors such as myself often strive to obtain a rifle from every make, and the lower production ones command a premium.
