I saw no less than 10 bucks all chasing does yesterday outside of lampasas. This was the 3rd weekend in a row we've seen bucks rutting.

Just got back from San Saba, I saw tons of deer only couple of bucks that chased a doe, but they really weren't into it. Great weekend though, plenty of game.

As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind...Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks--Thomas Jefferson

Stuff my dad said in the deer blind

"I can dive deeper and come up drier"
"did you do that?"

Was in Junction this weekend and saw a few bucks starting to show some interest in does. They would take off after them, but would only follow a little ways. Does were in that bounce around stage where they run funny and run around in circles anytime a buck even looks at them. Saw two mature bucks and their hocks were black and stained up. None of the more immature bucks were stained on their hocks. Slow weekend with very few deer coming to feeders. Plus, you cannot see because the mesquites still have nearly all of their leaves, but that is changing. Next weekend should be better, but what weekend during hunting season isn't good.

I am on the river in NW Burnet co. and the bucks were on the move. I saw 9 8s or better and only 2 came to the feeder.
