It could work, If they only allowed it on like a Thursday evening and told everyone there to start at 7:00 p.m. and leave when the sun sets.

But most importantly tell me so I can be at least 5 counties away from the madness.

I agree, If it tears your vehicle up then you should be able to take it home. I have seen many trophy deer laying on the side of the road. Like last year a friend of mines dad is a truck driver and he was coming back to Brownwood from Brady and saw a monster that someone had just hit. Later on a GW game out the deer ended up scoring 185. I would have loaded that sucker up.

Nope. "rapped" should have been spelled "wrapped" then it would have been correct. The fact you argued the point without looking up all the words hurts your argument too.

I think that the state of Texas should legalize "road hunting". Perhaps this would remove all the deer from the highway and right of ways in the state. No more squashed bambies and tore up vehicles. The state could charge extra for a license to do so. It could be a lot cheaper than a deer lease, which would allow more people to partake of the sport. I see lots of advantages. I did not hit one tonight, but many others did. Ok, I am ready for all comments and this will be my only one concerning this matter.

I don't know why anyone would think it dumb. Dang hill billies where I come from do that crap all the time.

Kid I grew up with shot one of the concrete deer in some peoples front yard one night. He never did graduate either.

I think I am more surprised you have internet access in Sheffield than proposing road hunting...I can't but barely get a cell signal there

Not anal. Just noting you thought your spelling was all correct and it wasn't. This whole thread is "strange" to say the least but hey, we all get bored now and then.

Then again I'm not the one who called someone an idiot. That would be you.

The very topic of this thread made me crack up...

I do agree with whoever said that roadkill should be harvested.

Read the same article on the deer/auto deaths. If a deer runs out in front of you and you can't avoid it, not only hit it, but don't brake. When you brake, it lowers the front end of your vehicle and the deer has a better chance of coming over the hood and dotting your eye. Accelerating rises the front of your vehicle and offers you more protection. On the other hand, if you have a Corvette like my wife drives....you are screwed.

screw worrying about raising the eye brows, id be more worried about our blood pressure, and while we are at legalizing road hunting, lets legalize poaching , drunk driving ,and animal brutality.
soap

and if u think it should be legal, i think it should be legal for the land owner to to charge u a trespassing fee for the deer you just shot off his fence line.

Mike, I think you must have just quoted me since I was last to post.... but to be certain.....

I think this is the dumbest idea in the history of the THF.... so please be careful who you quote. I was joking in referring to someone's post about what the original was smoking...

If you want to decrease the deer/auto collisions, you cant legalize road hunting, thats just gonna open up a pandora's box full of problems. Deer are getting hit at a greater number because the population has gotten at a point where there is not enough natural food available to support them. With a shortage of forage, the deer are hungry and are more likely to risk crossing a road if there is a chance they can find food. TPWD needs to work along with landowners and plant several annual forage and then hardwoods to at least atempt to increase food availability. Doe permits also need to be cheaper and more readily avaliable, that would cut down on collisions.

You can buy a permit for road hunting! You have to do it with a vehicle though.. The permit is at the RANCH HAND store and depending on vehicle will set you back about 900 or so. Good thing is that it doesn't expire till you get rid of the vehicle!
