Got to the stand at 0430. The moon was nice and bright. I could see 3 or 4 deer under feeder, but couldn't tell what they were. Saw 2 bucks around 0830 at about 150 yards, but never could see their heads long enough to see if they were shooters. At 0900 had a doe and fawn come in to the feeder and I just stood up to take a wizz and she saw me and walked off.

Pretty dead day. Heard a few shots. Gonna try again Monday. I took all week off, so I have the time to hunt all I want this week.

My lease is only 10 minutes from the house and it sure is nice to go home each night.

Tried a tinks bomb this afternoon... doe and yearly came in about 5:50, smelled the tinks, blew twice and ran off. thats not the first time Ive had doe blow at scents =\

Other than that.. slow evening. Oh, cam pics from friday night showed does and bucks hitting feeder between 11pm and 4am..

Didnt hear any shots this afternoon either..

This topic turned into a "howd your hunt go?" topic, haha.

I know what you mean. I hunt 11 acres. Nice area but my neighbor decided to drive his truck around the fence line and run a damn chainsaw all afternoon. Saw a few little bucks and two does. Maybe in the morning.

Very, very slow here in DeWitt County. No shots heard this morning and very few this evening. Popular locker plant only had three deer brought in this morning. Slowest I've ever seen! Of the three deer, one was a 160+ buck off a small, low fenced place from a member in our Wildlife Management Association! Second year in a row that we are seeing 160+ deer from our WMA properties! Might be slow but a good start!

I saw some 2 1/2 year olds in the 115 - 125 range but no shooters this morning or evening.

I hunt North Parker County. Saw a yearling 3 point at first light and 2 at last light. I couldn't tell what they were. Big body but not able to see antlers.

It was a nice weekend, but no big monsters or nothing. Opening morning we saw a 4 pointer and a doe, one of the cursed coons too but I didn't get a shot at him.

Saturday evening the hogs made an appearance and life ended for one 80lb sow and probably one other (my son was hunting with me, he probably hit brisket on his - talked to him about the head shots (again)). The photo is of the lights out, nappy time for the sow by the feeder leg.

This morning we saw another doe with a yearling buck - let them go too. We also saw a coyote but the bastage wouldn't give me a shot. I wanted him bad too - big old sucker.

Hamilton County, Only heard 5 shots in the morning. I got lucky and took a decent 8 point. Saw 1 doe and 2 twin yearlings with her. Too hot, too windy but no other place I would have rather been.

Not a dang thang for me this weekend! A six was seen and group of does. Oh and about a 300# hog was hauling A$$ across the field. That was it.

Got up at 6:30, grabbed a Dr Pepper, opened the bedroom window. Sat there until about 7, and turned on the TV. About 7:05 a doe came under the feeder. 7:10 I got tired of watching the doe so I dropped her then I went back to bed. About 9 the boys came in from the blind. I road along to the feeder, tagged the doe, they loaded the deer, and then gutted her.

Life sure is rough. rofl

Nothing for me this weekend except does and spikes and a nice 8 on cam. Just another great weekend in the woods, regardless of sightings or kills. smile

That's a long time to let her sit in this warm weather.

I saw deer everytime i hunted !I notices lots of young bucks this year, several different spikes, 4,5,6, and 7 points. I shot a doe saturday evening, and a spike sunday morning. 2 down, 3 to go ! Sure am glad we were moved to a 5 deer county this year !!

Man Our opener SUCKED big time !

One guy did see 2 different groups of does 11 total and one 6pt
A 3 pt was seen both days at 3 different blinds.
Someone got a glimps of what they think was an 8 pt.
No hogs were sees at all.

Out of 10 hunters a total of 14 deer were seen and only one doe shot... frown

North of Childress, didn't see anything Saturday morning. Saturday night sat at a different blind and saw a few doe but it was way too late to shoot. Sunday morning saw one doe and then had about 1.5 hours of fog and couldn't see anything. I could barely see my feeder.

Sunday evening was better, but no shooters and about a 10 does/yearlings.

Not a whole lot of shooting in the area.

Picture removed.
clowns creep me out.
