Well im still here and bowhunting through gun season! I will do both but I am still bowhunting as of now. Prolly pick up gun when rut is in full swing due to bucks on the move!

First year of bow hunting and im not putting it down till i get something. It is one of the most exciting things i have ever done. i can imagine sitting in a box stand anymore. I like to compare it to turkey hunting. If i do get one i might have a rifle forsale. Ill keep yall posted.

I held the bow this weekend. Actually missed a 130ish 8pt at 30yds. Jumped the string bad. I had to move a limb with the upper limb of my bow and when I released it made a bunch of noise. He was on alert already, he was at 10 ft when my buddy sent a text. I had the phone on silent but the bzzz bzzz bzzz freaked him out a little. Still, it's the first decent buck I've seen on this new lease and the adrenaline rush was great.

Wes were the deer rutting in Junction this weekend? I was not there as I am leaving Monday night to head down there for 6 days.
And yes I will still be shooting my bow. I have to rebuild my bow stand so I have my work cut out for me for a day or 2. I bought a new Savage 12 BVSS in 22-250 for some varmit action yesterday at the gun show.

new to the forum but me and my wife are both hardcore bowhunters she got her first bow last yr and upgraded to a passion earlier this yr an she is dead set on killing a deer with her bow killed a ram yesterday perfect shot 30yds im really proud

this is why i love hunting in both texas and oklahoma, bow season goes to jan 15th in oklahoma! and you can bow and gun hunt at same time with both licenses(they are separate)

i was done on oct 15th dang it.. got my buck in south dakota and don't have a place to hunt in TX.. I'll have to get one in the next couple years!

I've been trying to shoot me a hog on C.O.E. property with a bow, so I will be trying for a while.

Boomhauer... the deer were running like crazy around junction over the weekend. bucks going back and forth in a full run at times then stop and watch.. very interesting to watch. still not coming to feeders though. i corned a few roads and they did stop for that, but not really at the feeders.
