We saw this buck before daylight and had to wait on the sun to come up good for a good shot. He was rutting and running doe around our stand. One shot and dead right there!! I did a quick score on him and he grossed right at 130. Going to have him mounted for her. The TPWD biologist aged him at over 7 1/2 years old. She said that she thought he was probably 8 1/2. First time he's ever been seen on the ranch. Check out the green fingernail polish. Full cammo!

Great ol' Buck, she should be proud! Think I'll pass on the green nail polish idea though...

LOL Yeah, she wears green polish during deer season. She's been out there in my bow blind with me and watched a lot of good bucks come by in October. I think the nerves had been building up and when this beautiful buck came out, she said, "I think I want to look at him though the scope". I knew right then I was going to hear my old faithful 7mm go off. I held in the chuckle that was building up inside of me and slid my finger in my ear just in time. She swears she told me she was fixing to shoot..... I don't think so.

You can see that the left beam tried to have a G4 and G5. Makes you wonder if he had some other points in his prime. His teeth were almost gone.

Cody... he must acid tan to have it that quick. It takes 6 to 8 months to have a hide sent off to be tanned by the taxidermist and gotten back to them. I want this one "true tanned" and not acid tanned. Thanks for the heads up though.

I don't know how he tans them but I do know that out of the two dozen mounts I've seen him do there wasn't one that wasn't competition quality. I'll ask him how he tans them.

Thanks guys.... She shoots a rifle... well, it used to be my custom built rifle just for me,,,,, that is until she shot it one day. It's a 7mm with a supressor on it. Ziess scope, stainless with fiberglass stock. She can't pull back a bow with her back problems, so she doesn't even want to try the bow deal. She's a trooper though. She's right beside me in my bow blind all during bow season.

Hi Wade..... things are just perfect here. We had our 11th and 12th grandbabies born this year. The Hag's Tornado worm business is booming and our staff our doing awesome on the trails. I made the top 10 cut in a Stren on Toledo Bend. I have a beautiful wife that loves to hunt and fish with me. What more could a man ask for? Oh yeah, I could ask for my gun back.
