On the way home from our North property, we found this young fork buck dead on the side of the road. No entry or exit holes but he had been foaming blood from the mouth. Looks like a car collision and he ran a short distance before collapsing. Lungs likely took a hit.

When we got home, our two got their customary warm water wash down and then our new house guest got another good flea & tick shampooing. He's pretty clean now and his scabs from recent tangling with barbed wire have all but disappeared.

Interesting how our two and the new Lab, "Buddy" seem to know that the mallards here at home are off-limits.

And as far as this morning's hunt is concerned, here's Carol telling the two water monkeys how to pose ...

We only got the one duck this morning so you two pose nicely here with me, ok?

(Remi) Ok ... you pose with it first, Cappy ...

Ok, now I'll hold it ...

Now I'll give it back to ... oppps, now see what you've made me do!

That's good stuff, Thanks for sharing Cappy. Do you plan on keeping the new guy if nobody claims him?

I wish we could but we just can't. I have a couple fellas from other sites that have asked if they can have Buddy if we don't find the rightful owner. I hate to say this but he is the fastest learning and sweetest disposition Lab I've ever seen (including mine). He'll make someone an absolutely wonderful lifetime companion.

Great pics Cappy, thanks for sharing.

Glad both Cappy and Carol are getting out in the blind and feeling better.
