There is no way in hell would I watch cars drive in a circle instead of being out in the woods. The backstrap of a car isnt as good as a deer.

If I remember correctly, I think Eddie Gossage said something to the fact that they would lose a lot of fans due to the timing of the race. But he wasn't in a position to gripe because they had fought so long for the second race. Wouldn't surprise me if NASCAR did this on purpose to be a thorn in Bruton's side. Piss on em. I'll be hunting.

Besides, having a tire or or rim "mounted" on the wall just doesn't seem right.
And wildtxn09, you are right, hunters seem to be "brotherly" goin' down the road.

I heard and this might not be true but they tried to move the date but NASCAR wouldn't do it. Could of something to do with what KBTX said getting two races.

I wouldn't miss hunting for nascar even when I was a BIG nascar fan, I think nascar sucks now, they(nascar) have ruined the racing, if you thought it was boring a few years ago you should see it now! GOOD LUCK this weekend ya'll!!!

Ok I think I've got this figured out... I won't drive in Saturdays race, so I can hunt all day Saturday, make morning hunt Sunday and still be here in time for the drivers meeting.
Then I can suit up during drivers introductions and still be on the track for the green flag... If I shoot something Sunday A.M. it should only put me a lap or two down... cool

I have been last two years. I'll hunt the opener somewhere but be back home for the race. If you understand NASCAR, it's addictive, and fun. A lot more to it than turning left and drinking beer. Same with non-hunters saying nothing to killing a deer with a gun...

I am going to the races.. I have allready been hunting for the past 3 weekends.. Not much to look forward to but killing dogs and hoping a wayward poisoned deer or hog doesnt make it the 8+ miles over to my lease.. I will hang out and and enjoy the brotherhood with 4 of my childhood friends for three days, drink, barbque and hope the sat night party is as good as last years.. for all of you that are hunting this weekend.. Best of luck and hope yall get a big one! My buddy that lives west of weatherford, said he has seen 4 different bucks chasing does pretty hard in the past 48hrs.. so it might be starting early..

x2.
I have a BIL that's an engineer for Petty Motorsports (formerly Evernham), and a FIL that was a pit crew member for Thor Motorsports. If you understand the technical aspects, rivalries, etc. of racing, it is fun and addictive. There is a whole hell of a lot more to it than being able to turn left. hammer
But would I miss opening weekend for it??? HELL NO!

I guess I just don't understand the intricacies of Nascar, cause all I see is people driving in circles.

I used to be a large fan of NASCAR but the "car of tommorow" and a few other things have ruined the racing to the point there is no real race at TMS anymore. Even if it was still entertaining there I would still be in the stand looking for a deer.
