Oh man, going to Kansas for the first time on an archery deer hunt/bird hunt. 15 days and counting.

Great hunting up there real open country and the deer tend to stick to the draws, I hunt the southeast part of the state...more oaks and thick cover.

Thanks for rubbing it in! I sure wish I could afford to go to kansas deer hunting! Just Kidding, best of luck and hope you get a wall hanger
 Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

Just got back from NE Kansas last night. Had 5 hunters there for 6 days and the hunting was the toughest I have seen. Standing corn everywere due to the rains. Combines were hitting the dryer fields on Monday and were working hard when we left on Wednesday. Chasing has begun with incredible deer being seen by two different buddies of mine on Tuesday a 190+ and on Wednesday a 170+. I am headed back to Kansas on Monday for a week of hunting myself and expect to see some incredible deer action with the corn fields finally harvested.
Sqiggy you should nail the peak rut dead on. We harvest a lot of deer from the 13th to the 17th.
rtapp you should catch them coming off of their first breeding session and catch them heading back out to run their scrapes for round 2, good luck on your first Kansas deer hunt. Allready hearing of some good bucks being harvested in the non-agricultural areas of Kansas hunting over baited corn piles.
