Shots do you guys generally hear? To my recollection, in Lavaca County it has been really foggy for opening morning the last couple years. I would say we average 3 shots opening morning and between 5 and 7 in the afternoon.

About 15.....I hunt East Texas

When I was a kid, I have heard up to 450, not necessarily close, but within hearing distance. I hunt in the Hill COuntry. Over the years, the numbers have gone down, down, down.

i hunt out east too. honestly i dont count but if i did id prolly lose track. usually about day light one will go off real close to me, echo through the pines and wake me up.

maybe 1 rifle shot. several shotguns (quail hunters)
in the big country area

just my dad or brothers shots echoing off the hill country canyons usually, sometimes i can hear very muffled shots from the ranch over...but not many. I think the hills in bandera county keep the sound from traveling as far.

Cass county will sound like a fire fight a LST. Bucks does and pigs will be going down. After that hardly ever hear any shots.

none my ears ring alot after i shot so i dont hear them....

Like BenBob said, in the hill country (Mason County) opening weekend sounded like a war zone. Each year the the amount of shots heard went down. And each year, magically, the bucks got bigger. I think guys are actually trying to manage the herd out there a little better...finally.

On the place I am on now I would say maybe 10 shots opening morning! On the other place I hunted not too far away I would say about 50 shots opening morning!

Only one shot matters though and thats mine!

5 or 6 usually. hopefully less this year !!

I may hear one or two, but they tend to be a long ways off.

yep yall are far enough away from the group of clubs in my area. some days there aint many shots but some days there is. usually opening weekend i hear alot but as the season goes ill hear less and less each weekend then near the end of the yr you really dont hear any at all.

Ditto on the big country. Actually, I'll hear several shots, but most will be at hogs or yotes.

opening morning is equivelent to the Super Bowl in many places in E. Tx

honestly I hear more after dark than I do during "regular hunting hours".

in my part of lavaca county, ill usually hear close to ten throughout the day. if i go out to fordtran, ill hear btween ten and fifteen.
