I think were close enough. Ive been working with DoubleB20 and we have come up with a date and place. Saturday, November 21, in Gainsville. Total cost per hunter is going to be $110. That includes 20 birds and a $30 trespass fee. Looking for no more than 10 hunters. Guest are welcomed at no cost. Each hunter will hunt a morning and afternoon cast with no more than two dogs per cast. To participate just reply with some sort of response. A deposit of $55.00 is required by November 6, 2010. After November 6, only a deposit will hold your spot. To keep cost down I thought we could do sort of a pot luck lunch with everyone bringing something. SAFETY FOR HUNTERS AND DOGS WILL BE OF THE UPMOST IMPORTANCE. All questions and suggestions are welcomed.

Would if I could. My first day back from Kansas is the 20th and I go back to work on the 21st. I could try to extend the vacation, but even if I did, I am sure my dog would be used up from the week + of hard hunting in Kansas. For that matter I am sure I will be used up too.

Count myself and my brother in (both of us are hunting). We don't have dogs though, that won't be a problem, will it? Looking forward too it since I saw a lot of quail during dove season and it got me fired up for quail season.

We have a ranch in Bosque County. We've never hunted quail on it because A) we don't have dogs and B) there are usually not that many birds on the property. This year we were walking down a fence line towards one of our dove tank when two quail exploded from right at our feet, giving us a slight scare and making me want to go quail hunting again. We then saw a couple of other groups of birds while we were driving through the pasture.

I'll probably be working but if I am home and there is a spot still open (doubt it) I'll come.

Would love to do it but I'll be trying out the OK panhandle that day. Maybe next time?

This sounds great. I'd love to get involved but I'm hoping to be in KS that weekend and the entire week of Thanksgiving chasing roosters. I'd be interested in something later on in the year.

I would agree with you, but then I would be wrong too.

Sounds like a great hunt shaping up. I wish that I could join you. Like JBP, I will be in KS all of Thanksgiving week hunting ducks, geese, and casing some roosters.

You're talking about putting out 20 pen raised birds for $80, right? That's a good deal. I'm paying $5 each for my training birds. NSTRA is $35 per brace. They put out 5 birds for each 30 minute brace. I eamiled the link to a couple of friends in your area.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

What is everyone planning on bringing for the potluck? I only ask so that we don't end up with nine people bringing the same thing.

My brother and I are bringing smoked sausage in a BBQ sauce as well as macaroni and cheese. We will also bring several loaves of bread.

It has to be, or you couldn't kill 20. He wouldn't answer my questions. I can do NSTRA for $35, but that's only 5 birds. One guy killed 22 at our last NSTRA trial, but he gunned for another guy.
