One week until rifle season. This is just my second year deer hunting. I have not gotten in to bow hunting yet and cannot wait until next Saturday. Who else is with me? Does anyone else have all their stuff piled up in the garage and ready to go?

Not piled in the garage but piled in my computer room ready to go. Can't hardly wait. I leave out Thursday for Sonora.

I've got some stuff ready to go. Put the dove season stuff away today and put my pack together.

I am glad I am not the only one. All these pictures from bow hunts are driving me nuts.

I'm highly anxious. I head out Fri. morning for 5 days of bliss. Can't wait.

My pack has been ready for two weeks already. I live 15 min. from where I hunt so no travel time for me. But I cant wait. Its like christmas starts Nov. 7 and goes through Jan.

For the last 2 weeks I have only been getting 3-4 hours of sleep at night because I wake up and think about what I need to do to get ready and how it is going to go when I get there .

This is going to be a long week at work . I head out Saturday Morning at 4:00 .

We're going over Wednesday evening, making a new camp, taking our new trailer (ok new to us).... can't wait.

Am getting my stuff ready this evening. Wife is pissed that I get ready for hunting trips a week early but I won't pack for a vacation or trip until the night before. She doesn't always understand my priorities.

I'm ready. Have a 4 day weekend for opening day. Just got my blind ready this evening. Now it's just waiting.

thursday cant get here quick enough!! haveing fun right now going through and getting my gear ready, but it truly will be a long 4 days... most of which will be spent thinking about the next 4 days. I cant wait!!!

It sounds like most people are heading out Wednesday or Thursday. I am staying and working a half day on Friday. Friday will me my least productive day of the year at work. Then the 4 hour drive out to west Texas.

This will be my first deer hunting trip with my dad. He grew up hunting but quit when he had kids. He was laid off at one point and sold through his guns to keep food on the table. Now 20 years later he had purchased new guns and seems more excited than I am about hunting this weekend.

It's gonna be a long 4 day work week for me this week and a short 2 day work week for me next week!

u boys have fun up in them big box blinds....I'll be using the bow for a while longer....maybe all season.....riffle hunting just does not do it for me.....

Whatever floats a hunters boat! I don't care how I get meat in the freezer. A dead deer is a dead deer. I sure couldn't have shot my buck last year with an arrow. It was 250 yards off. I want the rifle advantage. Anyway, good luck to all no matter how you hunt!

I got a temporary fix this past weekend by taking a nice boar hog that was headed to my food plot. They're been rooting heavily in the area and I feared it was just a matter of time before they would get into my plot. I prefer to stay out of areas that I intend to hunt on Opening Day but just couldn't stand idle and take the chance of seeing one of my best plots ever destroyed by hogs.

Well, that old boar won't be one of them.

As I said above I am pretty new to hunting. Is there tension between bow and rifle hunters, or is it just BigBow?

I bow hunt and rifle hunt. Love them both. Sometimes I just go out with an iron sight slug gun instead of a rifle. Certainly ready for this weekend. Although i have already bowhunted 7 days this season, I am excited about this weekend because we are seeing strong signs of the rut coming on at our place. Have seen a doe get bred by an 8 pt already. Plan on leaving Thursday night and coming back Monday night.

Any time I can go sit in the quiet outdoors and view a sunrise and wildlife does it for me. Gun/bow or camera would not matter to me.

I cant wait for Saturday!! Leaving Dallas on Friday morning headed for Motley county. Three days of Hunting and hunting stories!!! and a little crown drinking and cigar smoking thrown in too
