Got to my place outside of Talpa Thursday evening. Found that someone had crashed through my gate with their truck. Looks like they backed their truck up to my gate and smashed it. It broke their tail light and ripped off their Dodge trailor hitch cover. They stole one of my feeders and broke into my camper. Nothing of value in the camper so they stole some batteries and a chair. They got me about 3 months ago too. That time they cut the lock on the gate and stole one feeder. I hunt off cnty rd 414. Keep your eyes our for a dodge pickup with smashed rear end. Called the sherriff and they came out, but it's a shot in the dark at catching them. But it was a good weekend after all. My son shot his first buck. A six pt.

Vehicle vin numbers are also located on the rear tail light. Check the pieces and you may get lucky.

Take a 1"x6"x8' and drive 20-30 10penny nails through it, at the end of the season dig you a small trench in your road ON YOUR PROPERTY and lay the board in there then take a broom and brush dirt over the board.
Its alot easier for the cops to catch some one when they have 4 flat tires.
Just make sure you have a NO TRESSPASSING & SEVERE TIRE DAMAGE sign up...most likely they will think you are bluffing and then....POP GOES THE TIRES

Maybe some motion cameras... better idea. Sorry to hear that. WE hunted a place down by George West, always had things missing from camp. Finally gave up putting out feeders, just spread corn on the sendaros

I would have to seriously think about setting up IR game cams in strategic locations and try to see who is going in and out. Getting hit twice in three months is BS.

The cameras will work just hide them good. Spiking the roads to your feeders sounds funny. Just don't forget. I wouldn't put up the sign about the spikes though. Take them by surprise.
Good luck and congrats to your boy.

We had a job sight in Austin that was having diesel stolen on a regular basis when it was $4.00 a gallon, they hit us for $30,000.00 in 2 months.
Set up an $800 IR camera....THEY STOLE IT TOO!!!!
Finally we just had to buy a couple of lawn chairs and a few cases of beer for a couple of locals to hide out near by and call the cops......We got um!
The Spike board in the road deal works! and as far as for getting about it....thats why you put them through a board, that way when you get there you pull the board up and as you leave you put it back.

One thing, isn't it illegal to set a booby trap? They certainly deserve the spike strip, and likely would not go to the authorities if you got them with the strips, but imagine a situation where they drove off, had a tire blow out, and it killed one of them. You'd become the criminal in that case, even though it is total BS, but that's the way our system works.

They'd have to prove that a) they got the flats on your property and b) that you deliberately caused the flats, and c) win the jury's simpathy.

We hunt Runnels as well. Will keep an eye out. Have been kind of worried about our place since the land owner pulled all the fencing down. Still no clue what he is doing, but hope it is to replace it. Have a brand new $1500 blind a few hundred yards from a now open road.

If a tresspasser steps on that strip, you could be guilty of assault. Death or serious bodily injury is not valid against theft, burglary (except your habitation or occupied vehicle), or trespassing. Bad idea. I like the idea, but its bad overall.

I have never had game cams. If i set them up and they come out at night, won't the flash from the camera give it away??

I hunt with Ace's in Runnels Co. We have never had an issue, but as things get worse, and people get more desperate you never know.
Superman. Get the game cam with infared and there is no flash.
