I was told today that people have been seeing a monster buck just before you leave the city limits on hwy 30. I was told that it has been stopping traffic and that people are taking pics of this gaint 30+pointer with drop tines and everything!! I will try to get a pic of him from someone I know, but if anyone who lives around here knows anything or has a pic please let me know if you want. People(hunters) are saying its the biggest buck they have ever seen in the wild!!!

I believe it. When I was going to school at SHSU I lived off 30 and just outside of town I saw the biggest buck of my life walking through a hay field in the middle of the day. Lets put it this way it was big enough that I had to make a U turn to get a second look.

I always make the U-turn. Never know what else is there.

Cousin went to SHSU 5 years ago and talked about a big buck seen all the time in a hay field off 30. might be the same buck ruger1 saw.

id believe it....I have a friend that lives just off highway 30 but on the college station side. He has deer in his yard daily. He sees bucks on his street every night.

i hunt not far from there and i know there is big bucks all around

I have seen pics of the bucks and can say there are five in one pic that would go over 160 and one 170 inches and another buck that would score close too or over 200 inches all in the same area of woods and all inside the city limits!

I know people might not believe me,I didn't either till i saw the pics but its true the pics where taken right off the side of the highway.

When I lived there I saw some VERY nice bucks all the time. I believe it. I had a coach in high school that coached at Huntsville HS and he showed us video of a 170 that came to the feeder he had set up in his back yard daily. When I asked him why he never shot it, he said that he lived in the city limits and couldnt legally shoot him.

The picture of the 5 bucks was taken on the Ellis Unit which is out on 980. The prison has over 16,000 acres that is only hunted by the guards and it has massive deer. There is a picture taken with five of them swimming across the river onto the prison land. I have seen some of the bucks taken off of prison land and there are some bruisers.

Yeah thats true, monday evening I was on the stand and saw the biggest buck of my life across the fence from me at around 100 yards maybe more, the buck looked to be pushing 160 inches and was chasing a hot doe so he did not give me a chance in hell for a shot. This was right outside the city limits on hwy 19,soo Maybe I will see him again I hope.
