Can a Euro Mount be done after the horns are cut off?
I have a buck I shot 5 years ago and now that I think about it I would like to do a skull mount.
Is it possible? I don't want one of those iron ones that kinda looks odd to me I would like a real skull put on my horns.

Someone is going to have to use a little bit of creativity to get your antlers back onto a skull. I'm sure someone can do it for you, but it is probably going to cost you extra.

I have seen a metal skull that was made to attach antlers at Cabelas. Maybe you can save your antlers with this mount. Do-All Iron Buck Antler Mount Item:XK-228605 $34.99

Some taxidermists can make a resin copy of the skull and attach the horns to it. Most of the antler lamps that are reasonably priced are really resin copies of the real thing.

I've seen copies, by good taxidermists, that you cant tell from real. It can be done.

I am assuming that when you cut the horns off you cut a wedge out of the skull plate. Like you would do for a shoulder mount. If this is the case then....
Just shoot you another buck, totally deflesh, mark new skull and cut out similair wedge. Attach old horns and skull plate to new skull, bondo the seams and paint. Walla a nice euro mount. I prefer my euros bleached , but I have seen some fantastic looking ones that were painted.

http://new.joecoombs.com/index.php?main_...2gqt4lins139st5Copy and paste the URL. This is a replica skull that you can use. You just need to buy some white epoxie and feather it in the seams after you attach your antlers. The best way to do this is to run water over it while you rub you finger lightly over the epoxie to cover the seams. This will give you the correct texture look. Then if needed you can lightly spray the seams and skull with paint.
