135,000 miles on my F150 equipped with the auto stop/start feature, and have not had one single engine problem yet. (knocking on wood as I type this)

It's funny that so many people hate that feature. Driving in the city, I notice a huge difference in gas mileage, and the stop/start doesn't bother me one bit. I actually get about the same city mileage, and sometimes better city mileage than I do highway. The research I've done, it looks like they've massively beefed up the starters for vehicles with this feature. I don't live in the city and don't drive heavy stop/start traffic. It's ridiculous to shut the truck off for 1 second while you make a full stop to turn or to get a gate. I'm betting it uses more fuel in non-city driving.

I am of the mindset that I do not want my car cutting off until I turn the key off and get where I am going. This is one of many reasons I will not have a new car. I am now of the age that I can see it economically feasible to buy a rstored classic car instead. No, not the muscle car I would like but still a classic and I also prefer 4 doors, so that makes it even easier to afford. Don't get me wrong, I love how I have driven newer cars and trucks past the 300,000 mark and never did anything major to any of them, unlike the cars of yesteryear when one having 50,000 miles was nearing a motor rebuild stage and 100,000 miles was considered flat out wore out and worth nothing. My ideal family car would be an 1967 Galaxy 500 or 1967 Impala with a new crate motor and trans, better yet, 1967 Galaxy station wagon tubbed out. A friend of mine was frustrated with his 2021 F-350 7.3L gas. He brought up this same idea, and then showed me a truck he'd be proud to drive. 1987 Chevrolet 4WD dually, 454 and a manual transmission. It was a restored four door, long bed. $30,000

My 2019 F150 has it and I leave it turned off. With all the hell I had with my 2008 F150 which did not have that feature and the starter/starting/extended start BS, I plan to leave this one turned off all the time. If I commuted in Dallas bumper to bumper or something, I would still leave it turned off.

Just turn mine off every time I start the engine. No big deal.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Some models may have a slightly higher capacity battery. My Wrangler has two batteries. The primary and the secondary. The secondary is for the auto-stop/start feature. It's a physically smaller battery (maybe half the size of a typical car battery) and is buried underneath the primary and its tray and a fuse box. My secondary died and it caused various problems - including the vehicle wouldn't start, of course. The bill, covered by warranty, was like $450 for the battery and labor. That's when I got the device to disable the feature "permanently"... I got tired of having to press the damn button every time I started the vehicle to temporarily disable the stupid feature.

Good grief. I'm so thankful my truck has a turn it on and leave it on or turn it off and leave it off button.

Easy free fix. Push the start button, then push the button to turn it off. Then drive. Easy. No money.

Starter rebuilders love it Who would that be? Some models may have a slightly higher capacity battery. My Wrangler has two batteries. The primary and the secondary. The secondary is for the auto-stop/start feature. GM used that on some Malibus that had a belt driven starter/generator but abandoned it a LONG time ago.
Pass the gravy.

Pass the gravy.
