Man, it just keeps raining. Almost 5” last night, and more coming.

One good thing though. The ground is so wet and soft that fixing fence is easy. Yesterday I cut down a few straight cedars about the size of your leg calf and pushed them into the ground with the tractor bucket. Don’t need no stinkin post hole digger right now.

We all know, by the end of July or sooner, we'll be begging for rain!

Yep, it's wet now.

We are about 20 miles south of Mexia. The big rain yesterday barely went north of us, and just missed us. The big rain last night didn’t miss us.

Amen. It's May 2nd and we have a long Texas summer ahead of us.

January 4.7"
February 2.7"
March 7.7"
April 4.9"
May, thus far 1.0

21.0" so far in 2024

I won't he able to cut hay until June, I bet. And it'll be as high as the hood on the 4440.

Yeah, you’re not too far from me and I keep looking at the hay pasture and hoping we get a dry stretch long enough to get it cut this month. Lost my fall cutting last year due to wet weather followed by a freeze.

I don’t want the rain to go away, but maybe 2 weeks to dry out would be nice.

We got over 2" last night, I'm not complaining or wishing it would go away.

I do wish we could get more rain over the Lake Bridgeport water shed. Somehow, with all the rain over the last two months, it has risen only 2 feet.

The ground is soggy and we are still under Stage II Drought Contingency and water restrictions.

Lake Texoma was expected tp peak at 6' above rhe flood pool on May 15th, That was before the storm this morning that hit both watersheds. We are saturated, and a big rain in the watershed would make it interesting

I'd like to see that one last time and take my grandson but probably not in the cards. Saw it twice before but this one might be the highest yet. Quite a sight to see.
