Shotgun is always needed.

SOMETIMES things will come into the feeders. (fox & cats after birds & rodents & rabbits, yotes for a snack of corn or birds & such) Yes yotes eat corn, 2 deer seasons ago, I busted a female that ran off all the deer JUST to eat corn.

With cedars you are liable to have a fox come sit in your lap or a cat sneek in without you knowing, thats why even along, carry a shotgun & rifle. NEVER know what shot you can get.
