Yes, it will be different. You'll be hunting a lot of sloughs and cypress breaks, plus a great deal of flooded timber. Even the "open water" hunting in that neck of the woods tends toward flooded cypress and dead timber. It's very swampy.
If you've always been in Nebraska, be forewarned that the area around Nac is LOADED with snakes and gators aren't too hard to find. Bear that in mind if you're going to be putting a dog in the water.
Otherwise, deep East Texas is a wonderful place. The people are cool and laid back, the beer's cold, the food's great and the duck hunting can be excellent. Welcome to Texas.
