Pease River Lease
      05/10/08 02:03 PM

Lease Available – 2 Persons – Pease River - $1750.00 per gun

The lease contains two portions of land. The largest is 350 acres on the Pease River, two miles west of Rayland. The other portion is 125 acres north of Holiday creek, on the Foard county line. Rayland is approximately 15miles west of Vernon. (see google satellite)

This is a year round lease that features a 3br house, a 30’x50’ secure metal barn, and an all purpose metal storage building. Neither property has had cattle on it in years. There are two spring fed tanks. Both locations are very remote, very natural, and have plenty of game. Last year was a great hunting season. We took Deer, Hogs, Varmints, Quail, Dove, crow, and Turkey. The woods are full of turkey. The area is famous for migrating cranes, geese, and ducks. The birds winter in the area by the thousands. We gained access to these birds through our local contacts.

The smaller property is nearly all shinery oak and natural grasses. The old wheat field, 55 acres, is being converted this year to natural grasses and wildlife habitat. Two water wells were just completed and we will start watering food plots, provide water for turkey and quail, and a tank/wallow for hogs and deer. It is going to be very active because there is very little surface water in the area, and nearly all the land around us is in production.

This property makes good sense for the person who wants to come often, bring family, hunt all the seasons, and enjoy the house. The house is not much; but, it is very comfortable, I really enjoy taking a shower in the morning before hunting.

Anyone interested should let me know and I will send them some photo files. We really want two people who are also going to help us improve the habitat. There are four years remaining on the lease and I have a five year option.

This was posted earlier in the year; but, I pulled the post when a dispute over boundries arose. that issue has been resolved
