Your wrong, It will work because the heartguard kills all the imature worms and eggs. That prevents the infestation from getting larger. Heart worms have a lifspan of about 1 and half years max. They will die of old age and there will be no new ones developed.
The fact that it will work doesn't mean that is the way I am going to go. I have not made up my mind yet.
The damage that is being done while you wait for them to die is unknow to me. I am just asking for folks with any experience in this to tell what they know. I don't think you are being an arse but I don't think you know everything either. I sure don't, and I don't claim to. But I have been reading up on this and am tring to make the wise choice.
Yes I am guilty of one of the dogs but not both.
800 is alot of money. I feel you should weigh all of your options before making a decision.
Vets make mistakes also, a friend of mine sister took her dog to the vet for a teeth cleaning and the vet killed it. Gave it too much anesthia.
So by checking all of my options I think that shows I do care. If I didn't I would just put the dogs down.
