Notice a new chapter is formed Welcome COA-NETO Chapter
Challenged Outdoors of America- NETO-Chapter in the Longview TX and the Lake O” Pine’s area. Chapter formed in January/2008. They have hosted one successful youth hunt. They have a full year planned with youth fishing derbies, two hunts - one youth hunt in January and one physically challenged hunt in December, youth campouts, and there will be more events forthcoming. Challenged Outdoorsmen of America is proud to have this group as a chapter. They have been assisting with our events five years and have done a great job. This chapter means we will be doing several more events for the physically challenged and those with learning problems. Any thing you can do to help COA grow and help us help more folks would be gratefully appreciated. They are actively seeking participants and volunteers. Please join in and help the new COA-NETO chapter get going. They are a great group of guys and girls. COA is a non-profit organization If you need any further information please contact Darren Turner at email darrenturner@inbox.com.
Challenged Outdoorsmen enables youth and handicap individuals to enjoy the outdoors without limitations. With the help of persons such as you, we host approximately twelve events per year to educate and enable our handicap and youths to enjoy all of the benefits of the great outdoors, providing much needed therapy. With the new (NETO) chapter we will be able to help more folks.
100% of all funding will be used for the handicap and youth only events. The Texarkana chapter will host Two deer hunts’ in December on Lake Wright Patman with US Army Corps of engineers’ for the physically and mentally challenged for approximately 150 participants plus volunteers, and one disadvantaged youth deer hunt to include fifty youth and their parents plus volunteers at Lake Wright Patman in January 2009. We will conduct three youth fishing derbies, three fishing derbies for those with learning disabilities, one campout, two educational week end trips, and one fourth of July event.
