just got the place. everything looks perfect for deer. "safe zone", cover, water, i've actually seen deer running around at night, the works. but still no love. I wonder if they just havn't found it yet. so far this is the best I have gotten.

Don't feel like the lone ranger. I haven't gotten barely any pics of deer in months. Just lots of hogs.

Don't fret BeerSlayer, I had 155 pics last year the month before the season. 150 of those were hogs and only one buck. We took three bucks out the first weekend. They're there, but just not smilin for the camera yet! Last weekend we got back to the lease after 6 weeks and had 981 pics, 5 of which had deer, all the rest is hogs. I'm not worried about it though.

I think I am just gonna forget about the camera and just do it the old fashioned way. sit for few hours before dawn and a few hours before dusk.

In a week and a half we had +/- 900 picts at the end of September, all hogs and coons.Don't worry about it, the deer are there. In the many years I have been hunting, I have never shot a big buck under the feeder. They have always been in route to does or bedding areas.

Sometimes to me game cams kinda take the fun of the suspense of not knowing what's out there. Don't get me wrong, I have a game cam but I don't always use it. We have a guy on our lease that didn't hunt but maybe twice all of last year because he would check the camera when he first got to the lease on every trip and about 90% of the deer pctures on his camera were ones feeding after dark and no buck pictures were taken during daylight hours. So most of his season was spent at camp. I know, his choice but duh! Towards the end of the season I told him there might have been a buck outside the view of the camera during the rut. That maybe the buck was just watching the doe eat and never got on film. He admitted to never thinking of that.
