A few weeks ago a guy, that used to work for me a few years ago, was drinking with some other guys. One of them went to the back of his truck and got a beer. The guy that worked for me, Harold Ham, told the guy not to get another one of his beers. After the guy finished that beer, he went back and got another one out of the back of Harlolds truck. Harold pulled out his pistol and shot him in the leg. When the other guys told Harold they needed to get him to the hospital, Harold walked over there and said he didnt need a hospital and shot him 2 times in the head killing the guy. Harold was going thru a divorce but dang he was always a very easy going guy. Cant believe he would go off like that. They arrested him for first degree murder.

My previous flippant post aside, divorce puts enormous amounts of stress on people to start with and then drinking doesn't help matters. Easy going or not, you really can't tell what the last straw is for folks when the pressure is getting to them. It really is too bad that now is life is even more messed up than whatever he was facing.

My guess is that the divorce was just part of the problem.
How many of us, really let everyone, even our closest friends, actually know what all is going on in our personal lives?
I would be willing to bet that all of us have things going on in our personal lives that none of even our closest friends and possibly even our own family and spouses even know about. JMO.
It is very sad indeed about this situation, as now, not only is the man going thru the divorce faced with even more troubles, the family of someone that was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time is suffering.
My question is why didn't the other people present try to disarm the person that did the shooting?

Do we really know who we're married to? How many times have you seen someone seperate and go off the deep end like this guy and the estranged spouce would somethig like this: " I never seen that side of him before. I would have never believed he would do anything like that"!!

Just this past weekend a man and his son was camping and bowhunting. The son was really the one hunting and the father was just enjoying the outdoors. When the son went to hunt that morning he said his father left for a few hours. When his father came back to camp, he admitted to his son that he had just shot and killed his wife - the son's mother - then, before the son could say anything, the father turned the gun on himself. The son called the LEOs who went to the house and found the mother dead, shot several times.
The father was 82 years old, the son was 50. Hard to imagine the things that people might do.

Yes, I know about this. It happened in Turkey Texas where my father-in-law still lives. The guy that was shot is Darrel Randell. The shooter, Harald Ham or (Bud). My wife went to school with 3 of these guys. Bud is quite a bit younger. We got the news the day it happened. The weapon was a .22 pistol.
I have thought about this often and my thought is that Bud shot a man for a beer. A beer that he will never enjoy again.

And, its not gun season either. I didnt hear her say anything about not takin my bow... 
And likewise on the meetin. We get up there from time to time. Maybe we can make a crossing on our next trip out to Turkey.
