my 3 cents: I raise Texas Dalls - We have several small "leased" pastures including the 4 acres where our house sits. We run a few ewes with a ram at the house - we have had them for over 3 years and to this day, they run to the other side of the field when I walk into the back yard. Tame? I think not, however I wouldn't dream of hunting them there or anywhere less than 600 acres. We don't tag anything but our ewes, for record keeping purposes. I would bet that if you turned them out for 3 months on 600 acres or more, you wouldn't be able to find them for several weeks.
