Got a chance to sneek out this morning and do a little calling as it has cooled off a little. Set up using the Foxpro 416B and my new DPMS Sweet Sixteen AR-15. Was about 65 degrees with a light NE breeze. Set up about 60 yards from the old 416B and let Lil Jack play his dyeing best. Less than 5 minutes a male comes over the hill and stops to check it out, bad move on his part, my new DPMS Sweet Sixteen ended his hunt at 133 yds,DRT. Kept the call going and about 5 minutes later here comes a female around the hill, stopped her with a "woff" and let another 55 grain pill fly at 97 yds. At first I thought I missed as I couldn't see her, found her later about 10 yrds from where I shot her in the brush. Still had the call running and another came out about 350 yds away and guess it winded me as it didn't stick around long enough for a shot. All in all, couldn't ask for a better way to start out the year than with a successful hunt using my new toys and having two yotes down. Going to try and post a pic of them. This will be my first attempt at posting a pic, so here goes. Tony

Looks like the pups are out & curiosity got the best of them. Nothing like this time of year...dove hunt the day, varmint hunt the night. Nice job. Remember this time of year the females have kicked out this years pups, they are young & DUMB & easy calling.

Yeh MaggieMTx, I know these were young and dumb yotes, but is just as fun to shoot them as the old smart ones! Why let them get old and smart when you can get them when they are still pretty stupid? I love hunting them this time of year when they are still in this stage, easier to kill them and it helps me hone my calling and shooting skills after taking the summer off from hunting myself, besides, I need all the help I can get! Besides, a yote down is a yote down, right. Have done a little dove hunting myself and enjoy the heck out of it. I'm with ya on the doves during the day and the yotes after dark! Tony
