What genius decided to take them off the floor board? I liked it better on the floor board.
my first truck had the switch on the floor....seemed to work better that way. i can remeber filling my truck up for $0.82 a gallon.
we played outside, had no internet and if we wanted to go somewhere we rode our bikes.

I'm only 30 and I remember 16! I remember seeing or hearing about the other nine but did not have first hand experience with skate keys and the like... We kinda grew up "behind the times." I especially remember the wringer. At about 4 years old I had a first hand experience with one of the electric variety. The Co-op used to have one out by the gas pumps with chamois in the tub to wash you wind shield. I was always amazed my the rolling and squishing of the wringer and one day got a little two close and experienced the rolling and squishing first hand. All the way to about 4 inches above the elbow on my right arm. An old man ran over and kicked it in reverse and rolled'er back out the way she came in. I'll never forget the blue arm I had for several weeks after that.

mothers NEVER left(forgot) their kids in hot cars!
37 here. I scored 16 myself.
And I was given two choices when I acted up in a store...Go sit in the HOT car 'til Mom was done shopping, or get a butt blistering right there in front of god and everybody. But we were allowed to roll the windows down.
And then there was the saying, when I was really young, "stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about"!
And I own a truck with the key in the dash, and dimmer on the floor.'71 Chevy...Wouldn't trade it for two new trucks.

I remember being able run the neighborhood without my parents worrying about us getting snatched, molested, etc. Heck we were expected to run the neighborhood and play sports in the vacant lot until we were whistled home by my Dad! And man can he whistle.

i remember the party line's and my grandpa's 3 minute rule,if you can't get it said in 3 minute's write em' a letter. the outhouse and those cold winter nights and wandering what the corn cob was all about. wandering why grandma made us wash clothes outside in a tub and that musical instrument you saw on hee haw. hanging clothe's on a line. 3 on a tree and learning how to drive on country roads with the cool great aunt who packed a pistol and thought wrestling was real. and playing outside until it was time for dinner and then going outside again if there was enough light.

I remember I refused to buy a car because it had a dimmer switch on the column didn't think anyone would ever go for that. I remembered 21 and much of the added. How about hair-oil, dippity-do, clackers. Playing marbles with the whole family. Vulcanizing patches for your tires and using them yourself. Bull Durham cigarette tobacco as well as the chewing tobacco.

nuts you had to shell on your own!
Them dang Walnuts. Just took too much work to eat.
What about real Black Walnuts?! You had to peel them with a thick-bladed knife and then crush them in a vice.
