I will be cooking some tonight should I half them before frying or keep them whole? I'll be having fried deer, mashed taters and, gravy with them as well. I can't wait til supper

I usually quarter mine, but that is personal choice and ease on frying. When is supper time?

On cottontails, I have gotten to where I cut them up into 6 pieces.

The 2 back legs, the 2 front legs with the rib plate attached, and the back cut into 2 pieces.

Lora fixed a couple last night that we had marinated in orange juice for a few hours and then battered and deep fried.

Had Mashed Potatoes w/Mushroom Gravy, Asparagus, and Butter Milk bisquits to go with it.

CH - yall got any leftover? Hey, I still have you two in mind when I start up trapping this winter, especially on the bobcats, except for one or two for myself.

Supper went great. Took the shoulders and hind quarters off left back whole and attached to ribs. Had mashed red potatoes biscuitsm and gravy to go along with it. Best rabbit I have eaten so far which hasn't been a lot but still good.

Sounds good, I had the squirrels for lunch my self. I had them in a gravy over rice though.

Well tonight I had some deer meat, and rabbit and squirrel backstraps left that I hadn't chicken fried the other day. I didn't feel like dealing with the mess of frying again so I ground them all up together and made DRS Burgers. I just added my usual minced onion, worchestershire, and a little olive oil and cooked them in the pan. Turned out pretty damn good if I must say so myself. Ya'll should give it a try sometime.

LOL, I may give that a try. I mixed turkey, deer and ground chuck the other day for a nice meal.
