What's a stocker aoudad? Are they for sale alive for breeding or are they for sale to go shoot?

Stocker animals are animals for sale to a ranch to buy and hunt. Usually this means its a smaller animal and not quite a trophy. Most ranches buy stockers like yearlings or two year olds and let them out on the place. 2-4 years later they are big enough for hunting. The younger the animal is, usually the better it is to adapting to the place and surviving. Which is another reason why ranches buy 1-2 year olds for stockers on a ranch rather than buying trophy animals which are typically 4-6 years old.

In this case, it sounds like its a trophy aoudad that is being sold. Its a good size and a good price.

Thanks for the info. I guess what threw me off was the fact that they are 30"+ aoudads. That's a pretty big sheep whether it's in a high fence or not. I don't know any place that you could go kill a 30 incher, free ranging or other wise for $1750.00

These are available for breeding or hunting; if you want them for breeding, I have to get them in the trap pen (which could take a week or so). You will need to come dart and pick up yourself. If you want to hunt them, they are trophy caliber animals. You are not going to find a better Aoudad for the $$$$$$.
